Washington D.C. and Maryland Criminal Defense Attorney

We represent you on misdemeanor and felony charges

Over thirty years ago, I began my career working on criminal cases in Washington D.C.  I have substantial experience in criminal defense, and I know how to present your case in the most favorable light.

Drug crimes

Depending on the type of controlled substance involved, and the amount of it, penalties can be severe for:

  • Simple possession
  • Possession with intent to distribute

I examine your case and look for any possible cause for dismissal. My next priority is to keep you out of prison if possible.

Weapons charges

Weapons laws everywhere are constantly changing.  Maryland and DC gun laws are consistently severe. In either jurisdiction, you need a, experienced trial attorney if you face charges of:

  • Carrying a handgun
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of an illegal weapon
  • Unlawful sale of a weapon

Do not assume you will get probation on a first offense. Some jurisdictions have mandatory sentences for any gun-related conviction. And you do not want to have a weapon conviction on your record.

Theft

Crimes of theft can fall into several categories, including—

  • Possession of stolen goods
  • Larceny (stealing)
  • Embezzlement
  • Burglary (break-in theft)
  • Robbery (mugging)

Regulatory offenses, such as Medicare and Medicaid Fraud, also constitute theft.

Traffic violations

Traffic court should not be taken lightly. Depending on your charges, you can have your license suspended and you can spend time in prison. Do not appear in court without a lawyer if you are charged with:

  • Speeding well over the limit
  • Reckless driving
  • Driving under the influence (DUI)
  • Driving while intoxicated (DWI)

I work hard in court to help you keep your license and stay out of jail.
